POLL: Epstein damage: How bad?
mainstream news calls it a "stunning" reversal for the president to endorse the release of all the epstein files that "can legally be released." Soon he'll say it can't be released because of the "ongoing investigation" he ordered. it's not stunning. it's par for the course for this lyin' king. technically, he could release the files today without waiting for any votes if he wanted to.

POLL: Epstein damage: How bad?
did y'all catch what happened yesterday? after weeks of not swearing in the last Epstein file voter, as soon as the vote happened and more damning dirt came out, the President of the United States ordered the, by definition, impartial Attorney General of the United States to investigate only Democratic Party parties in the Epstein file, despite him calling it a hoax, because... THE ATTORNEY GENERAL CAN NOW STOP THE EXPOSURE OF THE EPSTEIN FILE BECAUSE IT IS PART OF AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION!

Mac, i've never seen Hicks before. His advertising and marketing slam is certainly edgy. I guess it's like being a lawyer. Depends on the client. If the product is good, you do good work by promoting it. If it's not, and it isn't most of the time, you're promoting/defending a lie. Hicks introduces the term Mac-inations. Is that something like Mac-logic. Can we fit you in there somewhere?

Captain's Log—Stardate 2025.15.10 it's been 1 year since Newbl construction began. Now 3 weeks into its initial launch, i'm still deliberating its purpose and direction. i steered an online dating service for over 25 years and a prior political discussion forum for 10. You'd think i'd have learned enough. Still, things change. And key questions remain: i know the public is tired of being exploited by unscrupulous money-sucking data-harvesting profiteers. But, even if they embrace the concept of a non-profit social network, are they willing to help built one from scratch? communicating can be a heavy lift. Are web-surfers too dependent on instant gratification -- 30 second cat-clips, hot TikTok stars, vertical doom-scrolling, swipe-left-right decision-making, and thumb-typing? thousands of cyberspace travelers have dropped in. Most — hesitant to sign-up and engage. Surely, numerous bugs in the software have impeded growth. How much? i'm feeling the next phase should be about me listening. And not to any half-human Spock or a.i. Copilot. i need to beam down. explore deeper. interview the native life forms...

thoughts on Bill Maher
last night Bill Maher was at his worst, attacking Democratic Socialism with his new brand of disingenuous hypocrisy. He said we've tried it many times before, and it's failed (we haven't). The closest we came was FDR's programs -- still a vital core of America. Bill cited North Korea as a model of it's failure. N. Korea is a dictatorship run by a lunatic. Ditto China's communist model and Russia's fake Presidency. then there's the Bill Maher model. Intelligent, sharp, still witty. But his emotions kicked in, and now his steady logic depicted by this straight line -------- is hitting more and more bumps in rational -----^-----v-----<. It began during the covid crisis when masks frightened him and his fancy restaurant privileges were curtailed by the concept of people sacrificing some conveniences for the sake of society. As i already mentioned -- his emotional scars of being Cancel Cultured by ABC 20 years ago kicked in and his pot-head fog of paranoia didn't help. And, of course, political views are driven more by emotion that intelligence.

- Cognitive Dissonance
i have a different perspective. I say judge, and prepare to be judged. But judge the behavior, not the person. No one is better. Some behave better. you are not shy about judging, scolding, or shaming the Prez and his supporters like Little Red Riding Hood. I understand. Silence in the presence of injustice is complicit. slavery was ended precisely because people told slavers "what to think and feel." And when they didn't listen, the North pushed their point at the end of bayonets. like you, i assume, i criticize people who discriminate against other races, nationality, or sexuality. In regards to animal abuse, i opt to speak out at opportune moments. If someone wants an award for speaking up against injustice, i'd give it to them. Though i know you're not looking for a medal for your dietary sacrifice, you earned one 🏆. i like the thread of independence that runs through your posts. You don't like being told what to think, even when you agree. It's as if there's one emotion that doesn't play well with your other emotions and advanced intellect. I may be wrong, and judgemental, but could it be a cognitive disconnect? We all do it. If you literally "won't eat with carnivores," you speak louder and more forcefully than i ever have. And because you blew your own horn, here, I will consider adjusting my own behavior (that's what speaking out publicly can do). Or, I might safely, cognitively disconnect, and just continue to eat my salad at the same table with the bloody bastards 😉- Universal Healthcare
the problem is that what gets done is WHAT WORKS for the top 2% -- the policymakers -- the corporations. It's not a matter of what is most effective or efficient. It is a matter of what is most profitable. for example, the electric car concept was crushed, along with, literally, the first viable models, 22 years ago*. Solar and wind energy could have been fully adopted and perfected by now. *2006 film Who Killed the Electric Car?- Cognitive Dissonance
"Reality: If you came across a jumper -- an animal that beat the odds and escaped slaughter -- your first inclination would probably be to rescue, care for, and nurture that animal. You would likely care deeply. And you know that. And the fact that your choices don't align with that makes you uncomfy. That's called cognitive dissonance. Really being introspective and changing takes courage. But we see people do it every day." --The Hopeful Herbivore https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1DZaUGhQG6/- The Lyin' King Thread
this is why the he has said, "smart people don’t like me" and "i like the poorly educated." But how you vote is more indicative of your emotions than your IQ.- Universal Healthcare
to remind you, the Affordable Care Act was Obama's key achievement with control of the House and Senate. The Right called it Obamacare, he went along, and they tried to put an end to it ever since. It was a distinct improvement on the old system, but the fact is the Health Insurance industry wrote most of the bill-- the best healthcare plan the industry would allow. But the Dems were within one centrist Democratic vote of "The Public Option" -- a universal, one-payer healthcare system adopted by just about every other developed nation. It gets rid of middlemen profiteers and unifies medical data. Obama was neutral on endorsing it and did not try to win over that one moderate. Here we are. And here is the rest of the world...- POLL: Epstein damage: How bad?

she likes the camera and the camera likes her. some speculate she was a plant to hook up with Charlie. that the Party will look to replace JD Vance's wife with her as First Lady, like a tv show might replace a wife on a sitcom for better ratings https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CBkKA78hs/- POLL: Epstein damage: How bad?
i fear that the bad news is already baked into his stock price and the bar has already been lowered to dirt level. i mean, he bragged about grabbing women by the cat hairs, is already a felon and adjudicated rapist, blew up 20 boats carrying 79 people on spec, hoped for his VP to be hanged, and buried his ex-wife on his golf course for the tax break!- POLL: Epstein damage: How bad?
- Death of Direct Tax Filing
yes, there was talk of free filing of taxes online years ago and it was semi-squashed. Now, i guess they made it official. A perfect example of what we're up against.- Can we do this Blackout?
that's a good point, Lee. But just as corps know how to train us, they know we can be untrained. If we break a habit for a week, they know we might be encouraged to break a habit more. Or we may find an alternative to their company. So, yes it's about permanent changes. But that's how permanent changes start. And they don't want us thinking for a whole week about what greedy bastards they are after working so hard to cultivate their image -- including paying millions to have some celebrity associate their face 😃 with their product or service!- Was the shutdown worth it?
but, Jim, isn't the resulting hardship worse, for at least 3 years -- before we have an election that would require us to win all three branches to change the law?
