  2. imo, the DNC borders on the 3rd option, closely related to option 2, which is closer to describing the RNC an example of how out of touch the Dem Party is with the voters is that a national Quinnipiac Poll found that 77 percent of Democrats “think Israel is committing genocide.” but only 10% of the Democrats in Congress voted for a resolution titled “Recognizing the genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza.” the huge difference is likely because only 10% are willing to say what the people who elected them say.

  5. the Admiral will say in the hearing tomorrow, that the survivors were blown apart 2,000 miles away because they were "trying to complete the mission" to, allegedly, deliver illegal drugs somewhere. it won't be televised -- which spares us from watching Senators, including many Democrats, asking questions predicated on the false "narco terrorist" premise to begin with. Neither president nor secretary of war nor admiral is judge, jury, and executioner i'm thinking GUILTY! impeachment court martial jail but then, who am i to say?
  6. news today that Mathew Perry's doctor who sold him the dangerous drugs is going to prison for 2.5 years. i don't get it. Why the trial and jail expense when the administration could have just blow him up months ago?

  10. i'd like to add that for some folks, like me, there's a lot to be said for independence. Freedom. Time to find what fulfills you and indulge in it. since you are more social than i am -- you could explore things that involves interaction. Movie clubs, book clubs, political groups, animal groups, pickle-ball groups, card groups. There is a site called NextDoor that might have groups. Meet-Up used to be popular, but i don't know how active they are now. Covid derailed some things. i did set out for this site to be a tool for those kinds of connections. And it can get there, in time. also. How about the concept of volunteering. Sounds like a great way to meet someone sensitive, caring and nurturing. yes?
  11. Tom, imo, i don't think you were necessarily "played." Everyone needs to be honest and respectful, in the process. But, it IS a difficult process. At this point in our lives, singles can be set in their ways and hesitant because of bad experiences. And health considerations regarding her surgery could certainly have complicated things. but, indeed, it can be a game. If i were playing it now i'd try to think of every meetup that doesn't work out as a stepping stone in the right direction -- to someone who will appreciate your value and reciprocate in ways that is truly fulfilling to both of you. As opposed to a detour down a yellow brick road that ultimately wastes both of your time when the fake wizard or wizardess behind the curtain is revealed. i know who i am and what i want now. Others do too. So, it's only natural that we apply our wisdom in the dating equation. my approach. when i'm ready. will be to not look for a friend rather than a partner. The rest will develop naturally, when the person is right. no rush. the medical industry is happy to keep filling our prescriptions to keep our aging bodies going. And a.i. life extension tech is around the corner. If someone you meet doesn't get you, someone else will. Just enjoy a cup of coffee and a chat along the way in your journey. The philosophers say, it's the journey, not the destination that matters.
  12. since today's mainstream American media needs it spelled out before they give it the focus it needs -- here it is... but since this President's unwritten manual is to throw anyone else under the bus -- the commanding Admiral is being blamed perfect irony for the asswipes (including Stephen A Smith) who were busy whining about the Dem Senators who spoke out against illegal orders a few days ago! so. Has the media mentioned what the punishment is for the war crime of murder? or do we have to look that up in the manual ourselves?
  13. most politicians won't bite the hand that feeds them. Bernie talks about it without singling out the industry. I think to the general public it comes across as a conspiracy theory. It IS a conspiracy. To the conspirators, it's BUSINESS. The horrors of war are the cost of doing business, like lung cancer was to the tobacco industry.
  14. i changed the title again, to the even more appropriate "the oil industry has an army!"
  15. i appropriately changed the title to "the FAKE war on drugs"
  16. congratulations to Hegseth for topping the list of the new administration staff to most likely to go to jail (if you still believe justice can be served) the murder of over 100 in international waters was already an illegality now, with the orders and execution of survivors, the crime is irrefutable even between war combatants it is illegal to execute unarmed enemy survivors -- and certainly not suspected drug smugglers outside our country somebody has been watching too much Breaking Bad the friggin guy was just a bad news model a few months ago now he's telling career generals they're fat and giving orders to "kill everyone."
  17. i disagree. Seeking justice in matters of injustice is never a moot point. Whether the public wants it or not should never be factored into enforcing laws. The purpose is to prevent recurrences. seems to me that kind of framing has been at the core of 50 things the 2016 President could have been prosecuted for but wasn't that resulted in his reelection and another 50 violations in his first year back in office. indeed, the same exact reasoning has been applied to the Epstein case. And to your point it was only a public outcry that has revived the matter. But that is not at all the way the law and justice was meant to be applied and it's at the core of 💩 soup we're in. the idea that the powers that be will find a way to avoid justice anyway is not acceptable

https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Bmb6SriQf/ is an ANONYMOUS post using the recent national guard assault as a simple example of, what has always been, the greatest threat to a healthy society throughout human history -- class warfare. in nature it's called survival of the fittest. In human nature, where the mind is the species greatest asset, it's better defined as, not even survival of the smartest, but survival of the richest. The smartest social construct is one of cooperative sharing. We may not be living in The Dark Age, but we're certainly not living in The Smart Age. and it is not a conspiracy theory. It's simply that the people motivated to chase wealth and power as a priority of life, tend to think the same. As they separate themselves from the lower classes they become even more disconnected from emotions such as empathy and compassion. They sharpen their skills at manipulating the lower classes to serve their purposes. perhaps their greatest skill they learn is how to divide and conquer. How to get the lower classes to do their bidding (do the work, fight their wars, etc..) by pitting us against each other. sure. Today the cultural and ethical differences between Americans today are real and can't be ignored. But the problematic aspects of our positions were taught to us. the elite -- the top 1 or 2% on income inequality chart of fond of saying, and getting the workers to say the people complaining are just jealous. Work hard, buy a lottery ticket, and maybe you can be one of us one day. what do you say?

  20. thanks to all 3 of you for sharing your interesting perspectives on life and love. There's some good things about getting older, and one of them is that we know who we are and we are ready to tell it like it is. i believe we can and should be open to change, though. The adventure is not over. There's still time to learn and grow. I've already learned things from this small group of posters in the first few weeks Newbl has been online.
  21. in my case, it's obvious where i stand on the significance of politics in dating. Aside from physical attraction/chemistry, political views may be at the top of the list for many singles. There used to be more wiggle room in our grandparent's generations when women weren't as involved in politics. Now, especially due to the internet, people connect to politics like they do favorite sports teams and bands and they follow politicians the way they do celebrities. i can't imagine speed daters beating around the G. W. Bush. The only reason someone should avoid that issue up front is if they are just looking for a fling. Otherwise, it's counter productive to invest in a relationship that is likely to fail.

the media misses the point, as usual, and likely, deliberately. Regarding the six ex-military Senators reminding soldiers they don't have to obey illegal orders. Though the Prez has likely already violated the law and Constitution, they're warning more about what this Prez is setting up to do, rather than what he's already done. It will be his forthcoming SECOND attempt at overthrowing the U.S. government to remain in power!
