Not me, not the least bit. They are doing exactly what I expected, becahuse they know the Dems in congress, as well as the Epstein victims, have no power whatsover, in the congress, or the courts, to bring any consequences to the DOJ or FBI, for this coverup. We are witnessing the clear and convincing proof that the THE LYIN' KING administration is totally lawless and unaccountable for anything they do. Expect more of the same, until at least the next elected congress, assuming we even have midterm elections and that they are not rigged for the Repubs. But even with that, the Dems are not going to retake the Senate, so all they will be able to do is block the Repubs from passing anything then, and if THE LYIN' KING or Vance keep using executive orders, instead of passing congressional bills, all the House Dems would really be able to do in 2027, would be to hold oversight and investigative hearings, with subpena power, to expose the crimes of the administration, etc. Still, even with that, they would have no power to punish the Repubs for their crimes, only to make them look bad and hope to retake the Senate and WH in 2028. Finally, I fully expect that even if the House Dems have the majority after the midterms, the THE LYIN' KING or Vance admin. officials will simply ignore the subpeonas and refuse to show up for the hearings, and would likely never be prosecuted or punished for contempt of congress violations for not appearing at the hearings. Because the DOJ would refuse to prosecute them. The rule of law is now gone, for at least the next couple years, if not longer, with our fed govt... Frankly, I have little hope that we will survive what's coming between now and then, as far as further domestic fascism, and even if THE LYIN' KING is gone next year, the people behind him will continue their agenda, against his political opponents and dissenters like us. It's not going to stop just with grabbing up and deporting brown people.. Sorry to say it, folks, but I knew we were screwed, short of a mass rebellion against THE LYIN' KING, with tens of millions in the streets every day, and staying there, forcing the military and cops to take sides with us, etc., none of which ever happened, as soon as THE LYIN' KING won the trifecta in Nov. 2024, of both houses of congress and the WH... At this stage, the only thing that would save us, is a military coup against THE LYIN' KING and Vance, which ain't gonna happen... Merry freaking X-mas and a happy NY, my fellow heretics!....

I'd suggest doing more interviews with other members, maybe early next year, when you have the time. It might stimulate more response on the forums from other members, if they relate to the interview content or identify with the members who are sharing about themselves. I don't even have close to a hundred FB friends, but like you say, V., there are very few posts each day from my FB friends, and I rarely post anything personal about myself, instead mainly sharing political posts, because I really don't want many people knowing my personal business. Tho I have shared some of my struggles on here, because I guess it feels cathartic to do so, and because we all have some degree of anonymity here, with the usernames and all... I guess the true sign of when we have achieved some degree of community on here, is when members are able to feel free sharing honestly and openly about their personal lives, and in turn receive honest and supportive feedback from others, on the forums, instead of only thru messaging..

I think you'll see the same thing with LHC profiles, people not completing them until the already see someone of the opposite sex already with one in their state, and in their age group as well. The sad fact is, most people coming to check out the site will only stay and participate if they see or feel they will soon see, local dating options for them. In the meantime, only a small minority will stay for the online community here, much less actively participate in the forums. Folks like you and me are not a common breed. Most people are instead just focused on their busy offline lives or on finding someone to date, etc.., rather than online forums or making new friends online, etc..

I'm pretty confident that all of the members here are real people, even if we likely will never meet any of them in person...

My state, Iowa, scores an F, what a non surprise. But why should it be? We also lead the nation in cancer rates, worst water quality, worst economy (as far as economic growth), and our current governor is the least popular governor in the country. No wonder all my fellow libs here call us Mississippi North... I can only imagine how Iowa stacks up against those other countries you mentioned, on gun control..

I've gotten to where I just don't know what to think anymore, as far as America's gun fetish and how or if we will ever make any progress against our country's epidemic of mass shootings. But I do know that I appreciate and agree with both of your perspectives here. After THE LYIN' KING got elected, I too was planning to buy a handgun and learn to shoot for the first time in my life, as part of expected self defense against the MAGAs, who I still think will eventually be acting as paramilitary groups, same as ICE is now, only they would be hunting anyone opposed to MAGA, not just brown people. Anyway, I didn't buy that gun, not because I don't think it's eventually going to come to what I've been dreading, as far as MAGAs in packs coming to hunt us, but because I realized that arming myself wouldn't really prevent them from killing me,, and the the satisfaction of being able to fight back and maybe being able to take out a couple of them in the process, was not worth the risk I was also developing that I might also succumb to my worsening depression and use it on myself sometime. So no gun for me, and I'm just hanging in there, trying to have some hope that we somehow get thru this nightmare, while in the meantime stick as close as possible with my local offline friends and enjoy what I can in my personal life. To me, an armed society and religion are much alike. People acting falsely and more ethically and fairly towards others, only out of coercion that if they don't they will suffer, either in this life or some imagined afterlife. Makes me proud to be non religious, so I act morally and ethically because I want to, not because I need to for approval from other church members. And glad I can still have many places where I don't have to deal with armed assholes ready to blow me away, if I say something that pisses them off. That's what makes for a free society, not the Old West stuff of having to shoot it out every time there's a disagreement. And from what I've read. there was actually more gun control than people think in the Old West, at least as far as in the towns there, where people did have to turn in their guns when they came into town, etc.. As far as the Beatles song, the irony of it has always haunted me after Lennon's murder, which was two days after my birthday, in 1980. If only John had known how his life would end that way, even tho he reportedly was afraid for some time before his death, that he would be assassinated, either by the govt. or by one of his crazed fans..

V., you totally nailed it, they should be doing those ads now, but you're so right, that instead they'll wait to the next season and do the same stale left vs. right talking points, and stick to the same identity politics and culture war 💩, instead of running on lefty economic populism. Because first off, they don't stand for economic populism from the left, and haven't stood for it since the 80s, and secondly, they won't do that because it would offend their corporate donors. So they'll stick with the same bashing the Repubs on culture war stuff and ID politics, and with that, maybe even still find a way to lose races that should be easy to win. Beginning with Clinton in the 90s, the Dem Party traded unions and the working class for corporate and Wall Street cash, and we've all been paying the price ever since.. I look for more of the same tired, " We don't stand for anything economically, but at least we're not Repubs, and we differ from them on the culture war stuff", but the problem is, the working class and most voters, really don't care about the culture war stuff and ID politics, compared to economics. So even if the Repubs lie to them about economic policy and what they will deliver on it, most people will still vote for Repubs, if the Repubs at least play to their anger and grievances, while the Dems simply ignore those things, as if class war doesn't exist..

I can, understand that is, because they only are willing to fight dirty against progressives, not against Repubs. Why? Because their only real purpose, as a fake or controlled opposition party, is to protect the status quo for the rich and corporations, which is not only about defeating progressive candidates, but also colluding with the Repubs to serve the rich and corporations. BTW, progressive is just a modern term for socialist, used by progressives to avoid the stigma associated with socialism.. Specifically to your point, V., running those ads would offend the donors that fund both major parties, so you'll never see the DNC or corporate Dems ever running honest, brutal ads like that against Repubs..

An impressive and unsurprising list for THE LYIN' KING. I remember well the bad old days of Nixon, and am still amazed that anyone in my lifetime, would make Nixon look good in retrospect... But the blame can't go to just one man, in either one's case. Nowadays, the SC con majority, and the corrupt and cowardly members of his own party in DC, are also to blame for letting THE LYIN' KING get away with all this. In Nixon's day, the SC stood up to him on his abuses of power, and eventually, so did his party's congress critters. That no longer happens today, for an abusive Repub prez...

I invited glennlab to here, as we are both refugees from Agnostic.com, a similar site to this one, only targeted for non religious, non believer folks. We met up on there years ago, when it was still active and had thousands of members. We both hope this new site has a better run and future than Agnostic did.. Like Agnostic, this site depends on word of mouth, not paid ads elsewhere, which is why the other site never developed local dating options, but it did become a very big online community, of forum discussions and specialized interest groups.. Time will tell if this site will ever reach critical mass in members, enough to offer local dating options for most of its US members..

Or as Ralph Nader said long ago, " If, or whether, you don't do politics (or voting), politics will be done to you"....

I've been thinking the same thing about Maxwell, that she has to know that she has many people, not just THE LYIN' KING, that would love to have her whacked, if she becomes too much of a threat of informing on them, and so she too would have some sort of protection plan in place, to have stuff released to the public, if anything bad happened to her, such as an "accident" or "suicide"....

Not surprised at all, the SC has been giving THE LYIN' KING everything he wants, since he came to power again, but why should anyone be surprised, when the immunity ruling they gave him while he was out of power, basically said, " We give you a pardon on anything you did last time, and are rolling out the carpet for anything you want to do next time that you're in power"? The SC is just as treasonous as him...

Agreed YDS. These days, when it comes to the Repubs and cheating, you can't be too paranoid, so to speak, because these people will do anything to get and keep power. The Dems will also lie to get and keep power, particularly against progressives, but they aren't willing to play as dirty as the Repubs, when it comes to playing against the other party... and they also won't cheat to win general elections. Dem Party primaries, against progressives, that's another story.... Which is why I see the Dems as more of a fake or controlled opposition party to the Repubs, than an actual opponent or serious competitor...

Sounds like one I would really enjoy watching, thanks for telling us about it. Some of the parts of it you mentioned, such as the news clips and videos, reminds me of the doc film Summer Of Love, about the Black Woodstock in Harlem during the same time period of this. What really struck me about that film, were the on the street news interviews with concert attendees, regarding news of the day, and how unfiltered and honest those were allowed to be, compared to our current new coverage of events, where it's all very controlled, corporate filtered, and no ordinary people would ever get allowed to speak freely and uncensored about politics and how they felt our government was doing things. Corporate censorship these days is much stricter than any govt. censorship has ever been in the US.

Same as pardoning all the J6rs, it fires up his base with owning the libs, and in that case, he also got a group to staff his private ICE gestapo army... He does enjoy seeing how outrageous he can get away with being, and pardoning her would give him the same benefits as the first part of what he got from pardoning the J6rs..

I think you are preaching to the choir here, Rob, but I still appreciate it, and you make some very deep, radical, and inspiring points. So, glad you're here, and feel free to continue to make them. Because I often feel that fellow members of the choir, who support Dems, are often ignorant or unaware of these deeper issues and points, that the lame Dem leaders almost always never bring up or go into depth with, instead of sticking to their simple, glib, focus group-tested talking points and bumper sticker slogans. And in that respect, they are often just as condescending and disrespectful to the voters as the Repubs.. And V3, the captain's Fact Check just proves that THE LYIN' KING's deportation 💩 has always been about race, division, and distraction from his other crimes, and nothing to do with public safety or protecting Americans, not even white Americans... And I would love to see all the ICE bounty hunters unmasked and then studied, to see the %s of them that have committed each of these crimes in the Fact Check. I bet it would be pretty damned high....

The center director retired about a year or so ago, and I don't miss that bitch one bit, and told the staff so at the time she left, but since then, I've got along fine with the staff since then, since there is no longer the favoritism practiced towards the Trumpers, and against me, which is all I was asking for from the staff, simply that they respect me and treat me fairly and according to the rules posted at the center, instead of one set of rules for behavior, if you're part of the Trumper, conservative majority there, and another for people like me, who are the minority. I hate hypocrisy and some being treated as second class citizens, by people in power, whether pols or senior center directors, and I won't stand for it. And between the change in leadership there, and the embarrassment and backlash towards THE LYIN' KING, his many supporters at my local senior center no longer wear their red hats and other MAGA gear, as well as not being as loud or vocal as they were a few years ago, and I count that as a victory that I enjoy and take some personal pride in having some part in tempering them a bit.. As to your points about poverty, being the real factor behind desperate people immigrating to the US, legally or not, you are right on. It's driven by global capitalism, destablizing the economies of the countries they flee from, directed by the trade policies particularly of our country, as well as other western countries. It leads to chaos and crime in those countries, and as long as global and corporate capital runs our country, as well as other western governments, immigration will be a divisive problem, fueling the racism that's already there. The cause and enemy, is capitalism run amok and having too much power in government policy, not POC from other countries, who speak other languages and have other religions and culture.. If only people would look deeply and radically enough to see the root cause, instead of blaming immigration.

A few years ago, I got into it with a MAGA fellow senior citizen, at the local senior center, when he wore his red hat there, and I simply remarked to him that even tho he had the right to wear it there, same as some of the other guys who wear their NRA hats, and other right wing political apparel, that I found his hat to be deeply offensive, even tho I am white. Because, as I said to him, to me it feels the same as if he were wearing a confederate flag shirt, around black people. That the MAGA slogan was simply code for Make America White Again. He of course, exploded and started sputtering and shouting that he wears it "because I love Jesus and The Constitution", etc.. I told him he was full of 💩 and that those things had nothing to do with the MAGA slogan, even if he were sincere about those beliefs on his part, which I said I doubted was true. The staff immediately told us to separate and not talk to each other anymore, but after that, he went over to his MAGA buddy there, who watched me talking to another staffer, who was trying to calm me down, and the buddy then shouted to me, in front of everybody there, including the staff, that "I see you there talking about us, maybe I should go outside and kick your ass!" I then turned to the staff member and said to her, and everybody else there, " You all just heard him threaten me with assault, is anybody going to do anything about it? I think he should be banned from here for at least a week for that". Needless to say, since he was part of the majority where I live, in a red state and a red suburb, the center director did nothing to him, but did lecture me on how I need to keep my political opinions to myself there, since it was well known that she was a THE LYIN' KING supporter. All such favoritistic bull💩. I was told that they have the right to wear whatever they want and I can't comment, so I started wearing my Bernie shirts and they, him and his Trumper friends, wore their right wing stuff.

If Maxwell is pardoned, all hell should break loose, and if I were her, I would flee the country, because she would likely then be in danger of being whacked by either someone doing it for THE LYIN' KING or on behalf of the victims. And the latter would be justified, in my mind... I've had enough of seeing the guilty being able to just be pardoned and skate away with little or no consequences. Doesn't mean I will do it myself to them, but I'm not going to condemn it when it happens..
