FAQ: Homosexuality
QUESTION: IS HOMOSEXUALITY A CHOICE? that question raises many others... first and foremost -- What does it matter whether it is or isn't choice? if it is a choice? what? it should be illegal? The guilty should be "converted," exorcised? or worse? Why?... because humans must keep reproducing more humans to work in iphone factory's for slave wages? because it matters which fleshy human parts touch and rub other parts? because love and tenderness needs to be regulated by government? if it is a choice and there is a God, he gave us choice. if it is a loving God, he wants us to love and be loved. if there is no God. Do whatever blows your skirt up as long as you don't hurt someone else. if some of God's children are born that way and you want to punish them for it, what's next? punish them for the color of their skin? or what family, religion or country they are born into? who would do such a thing??

POLL: What size is your gun control?
a follow-up poll might be: Why do all Republican's object to gun control? because it (debatably) conflicts with our 2nd Amendment right. they're funded by the gun lobby, including the NRA, who wield heavy influence. they're anal retentive and don't feel safe without a deadly weapon even though statistics indicate it is more dangerous to own a gun than not to. the ak47 pins look so cool on our Congressional Reps despite them being the murder weapon of choice used on our children but that list got even too snarky for me

if we can successfully do something insignificant, like get a late-night talk show back on the air, imagine what we can do if we put our minds to it. and, more importantly, our awesome, undeniable, irresistible, consumer power?- Right vs Left Economy Record
and here's the CBS fact check on Clinton's job creation speech at the DNC Convention speech: Clinton's assertion, then, is true: Democratic presidents added approximately 42 million private sector jobs, to Republican's 24 million. Politifact points out that Clinton did not include public sector job growth in his calculations. Because Democrats are thought to historically add more government jobs than Republicans, adding those figures could have pumped up Democratic job growth figures even more, Politifact argues.- Are Corporations Evil?
i'd say, if you want money to "trickle down" put it in Mother Teresa's pocket, not the pocket of Elon Musk or the Lyin' King. but, you might say, "Mother Teresa never built anything. I say, think again, apprentice breath! Mother Teresa built 610 missions in 123 countries. The world doesn't need more Tr*mp Towers. What the world does need, now more than ever, is more Mother Teresas. or, you say, "how about that pioneer of profit -- Steve Jobs? Where would we be now if it wasn't for his keen sense of corporate greed?" I say, we would be exactly in the same place, except you might not be able to play piano on your cell phone. Sure, Steve Jobs was ahead of some curves. But somebody else would have arrived at the same place eventually. Truth is, if Jobs hadn't built his fiercely guarded proprietary machines, we might even be much better off and further along with open source technology and products. Bill Gates is a shrewd businessman also, but of the two hi-tech entrepreneurs, Gates shared more of his work, and ultimately, more of his profits as a philanthropist. You know who would have made a great project manager? Mother Teresa. We probably would have had an electric car that anyone could afford 30 years ago! Instead of the i-Phone we might have the we-Phone. Likely built collaboratively by a more psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually balanced group of contributors with a set of priorities that could result in a better product and better world at the same time. But why speculate? Ask any computer technician/geek/guru what operating system has been the most stable, secure, and efficient for the past 30 years. Their answer will not be Jobs' Mac or Gates' Windows. It will be the free, open source Unix/Linux operating system (Uni, meaning one, as in Universal -- as in Universal Healthcare -- which we don't have -- despite our 3D glasses.- Are Corporations Evil?
I watched the Oscar winning film NETWORK again and found it even more relevant today than in 1976. Depicting us being drilled by the oil industry and the prostitutes in news, and, of course, everyone "as mad as hell and not going to take it anymore." But that "mad" speech was rather generic. The speech of real substance, that should be screamed out of every window, is "The Corporate Cosmology of Arthur Jensen" delivered in the CEO's lecture:- Guernica Painting
i'm an abstract guy. i have a large print of this in my house.- Guernica Painting
Picasso's anti-war masterpiece depicting the suffering caused by violence and chaos during the Spanish Civil War.- Zeitgeist
i recommend skipping the opening minutes of tedious voice-over in the beginning.- The Twilight Zone
one of my favorite 3 shows. I learned a lot over some very impressionable years, watching it in wonder on a black and white tv- Avatar
i felt it was an impressive cinematic achievement, but i didn't care for it, overall. It was like Pocahontas in space meets the crew and machines from James Cameron's own Aliens films. (and James Cameron's Aliens was a rip off of the old sci-fi classic Them. But i loved it anyway)- Hollywood Liberals
i had to deduct few points because some of them (like Woody and Harvey) touched some of us in inappropriate ways too. And come to think of it, the industry and fans do fawn over them in lavish, self-serving, drawn-out award ceremonies several times every year. They get gold statues and outrageous paydays for playing make-believe, while in the real world, hard-working heroes get ignored by society. So, screw 'em. And the high horse they rode in on the red carpet. 🐴 but ya gotta love their movies. Let's do talk about them...- South Park
i had to deduct 3 points because i stopped liking cartoons after Loony Tunes -- though the people they lampoon are even wackier.- The Bible
i rate the Bible 1 for the regressive Testament and 10 for the liberal progressive Testament. and society is still divided in the polls 2,000 years later could be a Freudian thing anal retentive vs anal expulsive- POLL: Your thoughts on A.I.?

If this FAQ doesn't answer your question, submit it here and I'll try to answer within 48 hours (if an experienced user doesn't answer first). Please consider this in BETA stage and notify me of any bugs. When we get going in 2026, I'll need tech help, moderators and an admin. I'd rather be a creative contributor. It would be ideal to partner with other progressive organizations. IS THIS LIKE BLUESKY? No. I support BlueSky, but NewBluePlanet is a different format and focus. We invite you to build instead of scroll. And we have no intention to monetize your membership. NewBluePlanet was originally running during the Bush years. After election 2024, I re-developed it for 12 months as this non-profit community service. I REGISTERED. NOW WHAT? Comment on a forum post (not live chat) or post a short introduction to be upgraded to a Newbl Citizen. Citizens can additionally join the Liberal Hearts Club by adding their club profile. CAN I POST IMAGES? Only in your profile. If you prefer being bombarded with images, there are plenty of social networks for that. We want your thoughts and ideas. I'll be posting the best memes from properly linked sources who want them shared. CAN I POST ARTICLES? Quote a couple of lines, add your comments and link to the source. (see forum rules). CAN I BLOG? At some point, individual blogs will be implemented for writers who establish a following. IS THE LIBERAL HEARTS CLUB FOR ME? It's a tool for singles OR any person or couple interested in meeting like-minded friends. Viewing someone's friend profile and other site posts, can give you a good idea if you might like to invite them to participate in your party, game-night, pickle-ball, hike, hobby, political action, etc..- POLL: Who deserves a Peace Prize?
- POLL: Right to burn the flag?
- POLL: Most Effective Protest?
given that street or building protests only get as much attention as the media will allow, it is questionable how effective it can be. Of course, disrupting traffic or businesses gains attention but has legal ramifications. calling and writing officials and reps is helpful, but everyone knows it doesn't take much energy or commitment. So I doubt it moves the needle sufficiently. posting and sharing can be informative but the other side can post and share too. seems to me the winner is boycotting. If businesses' glutinous craving for profits brought out their monster, it can be tamed by withholding their meals. And posting and sharing can fuel the boycott and feed us.- POLL: Should the Right Secede?
to be clear, there's some talk about about dividing the country into 2 countries like the division of North Korea and a South Korea. Or some other configuration that would allow America's right-wing to do their things. Indeed, very complicated, but it deserves some contemplation given the extreme direction they're taking the whole country right now. off the top of my head, i think there may be some semi-reasonable options. Something that might take affect in, like a decade. Hell, i'd move to get out of hell if my state goes their way.- POLL: Who to blame for new GOP?
- POLL: Pick your Candidate
this list is highly speculative considering there are no candidates yet. I like Green credentials, but I'd never consider a Green Party candidate in the current 2-Party System. Like many, i believe in voting for the best representative of my priorities for America in the Primaries. But if asked who i'd like to see competing in the general election, i'd consider compromising a little in consideration of elect-ability. i think AOC and Bernie would be exciting "change" candidates but Bernie will be too old and AOC may be too young. I'd like to see Pete B in the VP slot. Newsom is the only one dealing with the king head-on, with a sense of urgency and a measure of cojones, so i believe he's earned my support. I'd have to see AOC and Gavin on the debate stage to decide. - boycott as a daily voting system
