Thought I'd dip my toes in the water. Feel the temperature. You know, it doesn't help unite Americans to identify your new planet as BLUE. It's my side of the isle that tries to be color blind while your side clings to identity politics and preferential treatment under the label of affirmative action.

come on in, Ms Writing Hood. the water's fine. I look forward to spirited, provocative exchanges that steer clear of being disrespectful or antagonistic.

you're an interesting character, and "we're more alike than we are different," -- as politicians like to say these days.

You acknowledge the absurdity of dividing Americans by color, yet you identify yourself as "Red" and on the "other side of the aisle." I do wish we could abandon the team colors, sides, and polarizing rhetoric.

this site is "new blue" because blue skies and oceans are a key characteristic of a human habitable ecosystem (which we are rapidly losing).

it is convenient for the Right to claim "color blindness" and dismiss affirmative action while the statistics still indicate a distinct bias in our society. But we'll more cleanly deal with those issues on another planet in the weeks ahead...

glad to have you on board in the role of my alter-ego, Red

OK. I'll play.

excellent. And i see you're online now. I'll tell you what. Since you've behaved and boarded a ship for Newbl (in the colonoscopy thread), i,m thinking if we might become LOST IN SPACE we'll need our own Dr Smith. I'll upgrade your privileges. BUT in the interest of harmony aboard this ship, i'll ask that you refrain from getting into it with other members. Just engage me. Deal?

i'm glad you recognize the role "privilege" plays in a society, Red.

in your case, i like your spunk,
and i accept my role as Captain Smirk (of the Starship Lucidity) to play off of your viewpoints.
iow, i lean Pro(gressive), you lean Con(servative), (or kahn-servative, like in WRATH OF KAHN)

Is there a problem with lift-off Captain V? I mean, Captain Smirk? Whichever you prefer.

either title tickles my fancy, Lieutenant Lindy

the problem is that we need to recruit a few more crew members. I did announce 2 new cyborg's. But where would we be without human error?
