Who should get paid during a shutdown?

Rick Scott is pushing legislation to abolish paychecks for Congress during a shutdown. It raises the question of who should and who shouldn't get paid?

Featured Replies

certainly, the perpetrators of the shutdown shouldn't be paid.

But they should also be getting the same health insurance we're getting.
And they manage the economy and have insider information, so they shouldn't be able to trade on the stock market, and on and on...

our entire system is so out of wack that it's no wonder Americans are so starving for change that too many of them picked a lunatic with a wrecking ball to do the job -- a man and his crime family who epitomize the problem with government leaders and of greedy, self-centered human beings without ethics and dignity.

Out of wack is an understatement. Americans are not only starving for change, they are literally starving. I am shocked at the numbers of people needing food assistance. It is a pathetic situation when people have to work so hard and still can't afford decent housing, food and health insurance. Something has to seriously change and soon. This whole corrupt administration has to go. We need serious reform. Pick the best countries economy and rate of peoples quality of life and copy that model since we can't seem to come up with our own.

itโ€™s frustrating to watch the people responsible for the mess still getting their pay and perks while everyone else feels the impact. The system really does need a reset
