Site FAQ

If this FAQ doesn't answer your question, submit it here and I'll try to answer within 48 hours (if an experienced user doesn't answer first). Please consider this November launch as a BETA stage and notify me of any bugs. When we get going, I'll need tech help, moderators and an admin. I'd rather be a creative contributor. It would be ideal to partner with other progressive organizations.

IS THIS LIKE BLUESKY? No. I support BlueSky, but NewBluePlanet is a different format and focus. We invite you to build instead of scroll. And we have no intention to monetize your membership. NewBluePlanet was originally running during the Bush years. After election 2024, I re-developed it for 12 months as this non-profit community service.

I REGISTERED. NOW WHAT? Comment on a forum post (not live chat) or post a short introduction to be upgraded to a Newbl Citizen. Citizens can additionally join the Liberal Hearts Club by adding their club profile.

CAN I POST IMAGES? Only in your profile. If you prefer being bombarded with images, there are plenty of social networks for that. We want your thoughts and ideas. I'll be posting the best memes from properly linked sources who want them shared. CAN I POST ARTICLES? Quote a couple of lines, add your comments and link to the source. (see forum rules). CAN I BLOG? At some point, individual blogs will be implemented for writers who establish a following.

IS THE LIBERAL HEARTS CLUB FOR ME? It's a tool for singles OR any person or couple interested in meeting like-minded friends. Viewing someone's friend profile and other site posts, can give you a good idea if you might like to invite them to participate in your party, game-night, pickle-ball, hike, hobby, political action, etc..

to be continued...

NAVIGATION:
Newble is built on the newest and most advanced forum software available. Though fully functional on cellphones, the navigation and overall experience is ideal on a tablet, pad, laptop or PC. Standard social networks are built to be scrolled vertically in a never ending spiral of doom and distraction. Newbl has vertical and horizontal features optimized for communicating ideas and building on them. And though thumbing might still work for hitching a ride, it's a blunt instrument for writing.

  4. Liberal Heart Club members can FOLLOW their profile group of interest.

  5. a SORT menu on the right will allow you to list posts or topics by date or other options.

REACTIONS, RATINGS, REVIEWS, POLLS and POINTS: These are options not found on other social networks.

Likes 👍 and other emojis are called "Reactions." They are available in discussion forum posts. When you 👍, 🤣, or 🏆a post it adds to the writer's "reputation" points shown on their profile. A 👎deducts a point.

Liberal Art Review posts are database entries created with fields of info. They have a rating system built-in, so the top-rated entries can be searched and sorted. In addition to REVIEW posts, you can COMMENT on review posts.

POLLS allow members & public viewers to see what voters feel is the best answers on the issues.

EDITING, DELETING: Click the white dot.dot.dot ... menu on the upper right of your post. For a profile or other data entry screen you will see a blue "Actions" menu at the bottomimage.png

I receive email notifications about responses and reactions on Yahoo! message boards. Is that capability possible in Newbl?

NOTIFICATIONS: you can turn on the setting to Follow specific topics/threads and receive an email notification but you cannot receive email notifications of reactions to your posts. When the site gets busier there would be too much of those.

instead of email notifications, i recommend turning on PUSH NOTIFICATIONS via the FOLLOW menu. Then, as long as your browser is open (on any site), you'll be notified with a sound and pop-up of your Newbl replies, messages, and, probably, reactions/likes.
