the mission:

something is the unnamed longing
-- the desire -- the dream -- the missing piece.

soon is the timing -- hope -- expectation -- pursuit

i put the words together because:

• we all want something

• we all want it soon

• we’re done waiting for this world to get its act together

• and our institutions are full of 💩 and worse slogans.

also, because my name is Salvator Soon and the somethings are my projects.

i think of this site as a workshop exploring the space between what is, and what could be.

initially, it was just a discussion forum.
but after a decade of debate, i realized that discussing is us just killing time
while our media and elected officials just keep doing what is in their best interests.

and because politics is more about feelings than reason
i purged most of the posts and exited the blame game
to focus on my art -- music, story and humor
-- because nothing conveys something better!

think Rod Serling directs Don Quixote on the set of Rocky Horror.
the stories and songs include elements of
social commentary, parody, and idealism
and, usually, end with a twist.

about me:

i grew up in Queens, NY, where everywhere i looked there was a smart-ass
-- including, regrettably, in the mirror.
but, otherwise, it was a diverse community
and my world was shaped by an active 1970s counter-culture movement
and a particularly bold and profound era of music and cinema.

i worked a variety of jobs including:
record store manager, college teacher, programmer, and entrepreneur.
but writing was always my preferred activity,
and i never treated it like a job.
even now, my goal is not to derive income from my work
-- it is just to spread it as far and wide as possible.

but enough about me, I've got more interesting stories to tell.
